The spiel!
Bella is an accomplished writer/director and producer operating between London and Los Angeles. She is currently part of the team at Academy Award-winning Passion Pictures. And recently completed a production role on Rian Johnson's 'Knives Out: Wake Up Dead Man'. Alongside Passion, she is writing and developing a Micro Drama series, as well as her debut feature film.
Her latest film, written and directed by herself, ‘BOBBY’, premieres this summer. This has been produced by Jason De Beer at Escape Route Films, who subsequently signed her onto their next film, which is now in post production. Bella's directorial debut, 'Tinfoil', garnered critical acclaim and secured Best Indie Short at the London Directors Awards.
Her career began in music and entertainment direction, collaborating with prominent artists including The Martinez Brothers, Chase & Status, and J.Balvin, as well as prestigious organisations such as the British Fashion Council.
Her industry recognition includes a Drum Award for 'Best Use of Social Media' achieved when she was 22, alongside a What's On Stage Award nomination received at the age of 18.
With experience spanning high-profile commercial productions, independent filmmaking, and cross-platform content creation, Bella brings a comprehensive understanding of modern entertainment industry dynamics to her projects.
— How it all happened
I have both a top class politics degree from the University of Bath and a graphic design qualification from Shillington College. Not the most obvious combination! But it is the perfect mix, engaging the strategic, data-driven left-side of my brain, as well as the more creative right-side.
My studies led to work placements with AKA, a theatre marketing agency, and Digitas LBi, a digital advertising agency. After graduating, I worked with the fantastic team at Be-Hookd Digital, first as a junior designer, before moving into creative direction in the digital strategy and ideation team.
In 2022, I applied for a Directors’ course at the NFTS. I had an inkling that I would take to film directing, but I had no idea of the scale.
